Because they don't understand the electoral system and their ignorance makes them poor losers.

The reason they feel that way is, because in 2000 the race was decided by the Supreme Court (that is majority conservative). The ballots from Florida (Jeb Bush, brother, governor), and it's electoral votes (which really decide the outcome) were up for grabs, and the Elections Commissioner (Ms. Harris, also Republican) all seemed to the people that lost to conspire to make the outcome what it was.
The reason people feel that he stole the 2004 elections (even though he won handily) is, because if the decisions made by the conservative majority in power at the time would had been different, then it's doubtful he would've run.

Before I answer this, lets all agree that the country would be better off if Florida had gone to Gore in 2000.
Now to answer the question: the first election was decided by the Judiciary, which would make the Founding Fathers vomit. Nine old people should not have the final say in who runs the world's only hyperpower. And in the second election, as in the first, the vote came down to a single controversial state (which is hardly a mandate by the people).

1) Because some people believe that rumor means truth.
2) Because some people believe in guilty until proved innocent.
3) Because some people supported the electoral college until they lost, then pointed out how unfair it was, AFTER it didn't help them.
4) Because some people can't tell the difference between sedition and dissent.
5) Because some people have made it fashionable to hate their own country.
6) Because some people think they are owed an election, and that their ideas, since they are obviously superior in THEIR mind, must be followed by everyone or the other people are obviously idiots/fools/Nazis/Neocons/puppets/Liberal slime/(fill in the blank)
I included "Liberal slime" because this behavior is not limited to Democrats (I am one), but has happened throughout the history of our country (and in more countries and elections than I can count).
There are always some who forget what a democracy, or even a representative democratic republic, is. They are like children in a movie theater who agree to vote with their parents and five siblings as to which movie to go to. AFTER the vote doesn't go their way, they:
1) Tell nearby people lies about their parents.
2) Call their siblings and parents names.
3) Refuse to acknowledge the movie chosen exists.
4) Fight to avoid going to the movie.
5) Claim the vote was unfair.
6) Criticize how they buy popcorn and soda, and claim they didn't do everything they could to get the best candy.
7) Tell them their hands feel sweaty and gross, so don't hold hands.
8) Tell the parents that they cheated the clerk that sold them tickets, LOUDLY, despite the fact that the clerk wasn't complaining or even commenting.
9) Claim that since they were accused of having cheated the clerk, they are corrupt parents and should be replaced, and the child should get THEIR movie choice as compensation.
10) Do you get the parallel, or should I go on?
Fight this everytime when you see the undermining behavior of trying to force the majority of America to ignore our traditions and laws for the sake of a minority. INCLUDING when it is people claiming to be Republicans trying to undermine a Democrat elected official.
As Democrat, I'd appreciate it. I'll do my best from this side of the political aisle. Join me (not in the party, though I'd love that, but as a U.S.A. citizen that doesn't tolerate such childish behavior when people try to undermine our system or elected officials).

I don't think Bush stole the election in 2004. There is some concern for the accuracy of computerized voting machines (Diebold) that are owned by Republican supporters. The 2000 election was one of the most important events in U.S. history. The U.S. Supreme court over stepped its bounds and gave the election to Bush. The decision claimed it was bound to a single case, the Florida presidential election. If it was applied to all state elections, every one of them could have been overturned.
Also, George Bush's brother, Jeb, just happened to be the governor of Florida. There were many shady things Jeb did to get his brother elected, like disenfranchising thousands of African Americans of their right to vote through fradulent felony lists. It was outrageous. Al Gore was a wimp. He should never have conceded to an unconstitutional decision of the supreme court. Americans should have rioted on the Supreme Court steps. It was a disgrace. Thomas Jefferson said, "Eternal vigilance is the pirice of liberty." Americans think they are free because they are allowed to be libertines. Wake up, there's a difference between libertine and liberty.

It was the Republicans that went to the US Supreme court and sued Gore. Bush v Gore was the ruling. And the court ruled that a recount would irreparably damage George W. Bush. Hence there was NO official recount of any vote in Florida. And also, just because a state votes for one candidate it doesn't mean the electoral vote has to go to that candidate. The Florida house pledged the electoral votes to Bush even if Gore won a recount.
" It Doesn't matter who votes, all the matters is who counts the votes" paraphrasing the quote.

Most believe that the 2000 Election was stolen due to voting irregularities. Not many believe that he did anything to change the results in 2004.

Because he received fewer popular votes than his opponent in 2000. And there were many voting irregularities in Ohio that could have changed the outcome of the election in 2004.

The Republican Party had Gay Marriage put on the ballot in close states in 2004 to get crazy religious people out to vote. The religious vote republican. Main stream America didn't care one way or another about gay marriage and it did not affect them.
In 2000 the ballots were very suspect in Florida, the deciding state. This also cause voting reforms.

It is not a matter of thinking it is a matter of knowing. In 2000 not all the votes in Flordia were recounted. When Flordia's state supreme court ordered all the votes be counted. Bush and Cheney went to the Federal Courts and sued on the grounds that they were not being given equal protection. Which was a false statement, as Flordia was following it's state laws. Then Federal judges awarded him the presidency, upsurping state rights under the Consitution of the United States of America. The Federal Courts did not have jursidiction to make that ruling and the judges who did make that ruling violated their oaths of office, which are to preserve, defend and uphold the consitution. Needless to state that four of the judges who ruled to give Bush and Cheney the election were given those lifetime positions by none other than George H. W. Bush, George's daddy. Had Al Gore done what was done in Mexico just last week, he would have probley been president. The candidate who claimed foul in Mexico, filmed the evidence and placed it on a 18 foot screen in the capital. The mexican people have said count the votes. See those ballots that they stated were ruined, seem to indicate very clearly who the people of Mexico wanted. That is why people in America stated the 2000 election was stolen, because it was, not all the votes were counted. They have since been counted, and amazing enough Al Gore was the winner in Flordia and was entitled to those electoral votes.
The republician party pulled the same thing in Ohio that they did in Flordia in 2004. They had Kenneth Blackwell to purge the voter rosters, and in addition he placed fewer voting machines in heavliy democratic areas, refused to accept persons who had legally registered because they may have been in a wrong line. In addition you had the C.E.O. of Diabold to state publically that he was going to give Ohio to Bush/Cheney in 2004. He has since resigned, but his machines ensured that we have Bush and Cheney for another four years. It was not just in Ohio either. Robert Kennedy Jr. wrote a very good article on voter fraud in Ohio, it was published in Rolling Stone magazine last month. Some people who participated in this voter fraud have been charged in Ohio and indictements are still pending on others.
As a citizen we should be more concerned with how to prevent voter fraud in 2006 and 2008. We should also be attempting to find out how to undo the laws, appointments ect this illegal administration has placed the American people under. We should be attempting to indicte them for the acts of treason they have committed against the citizens of this nation. They ought to be tried internationally for the war crimes that they have committed.

I don't know about 2004, but his bro Jeb and that Tammy-Faye wannabe, Kathleen Harris, DID in 2000.
Even though they did steal the 2000 election, can we move on? It's 2006 now.
