Stephen King is a very good author, but give me Dean Koontz any day!!! Try the book "Whispers" as a starter. I have read every book he has written (that I know of) and I will not loan any for fear it won't be returned. His books are great reading. He currently has a new paperback out called "Velocity". I'm about 1/3 the way through and am enjoying it. He writes some really wierd stuff-but good!!!

I'll rocommend The Shining by Stephen King, since no one else has yet. It's one of his best books I think.

Another good mystery, spooky book is The House Of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski.

If you like mystery books/novels I recommend you to read some of Agatha Christie's novels esp. with the character of Hercule Poirot in it, the settings are kinda old but the stories are great!! Check out the website below as your references.
