U.S High School grades are going down while some other third world countries are going high in School Education. I heard that U.S students are more interested in being a 'model'- from the public point of view!
Is it true?

The US is closer to third on the list. The reason our education system doesnt work is due to regulations, teachers unions, and a lack of competition. If the estimated $10,000 per student per year was attached to the child letting them go to any school, parents would send their kids to a better school. Thus forcing bad schools to either increase performance or go out of business. Market economics works, time tested and proven. We the consunmer should be given choice to choose what is best for kids. Not the Government. Not to mention teachers unions which make in hard to get rid of bad teachers and increase the school year.

There are many problems with schools, it will take many years and fixes to truly isolate the problem.

I'm in high school and I don't dress like that, but I know people who do and I hate it. There's nothing anyone can do about that... everyone has the freedom of what to wear unless there are uniforms. The teachers will force students in my school to change but what else is there to do?

I know it can be distracting but it really doesn't make your grade go down... just because someone is wearing a shirt that is too small for them isn't going to make you fail a class, so it's something that won't be changed.

If someone wants to act out and dress like that, it's up to them. Not my problem.

Yeah, well unfortunately in the litigious society in which we live, if a school sent a student home for infringing upon the dress code they risk a lawsuit, and that gets expensive.

It's too ******* bad the parents in this country don't have enough spine to stand up to their spoiled, unenlightened, unintelligent, snot-nosed kids and set some friggin limits.
