Moon is the natural satellite of earth. There are man - made satellites. Every thing is within the solar system.

Solar system belongs to stellar universe.

Therefore, any thing within this solar system is the constituents of solar system.

Man - made satellites are made from materials of earth; earth belongs to solar system and the materials are within the solar system; hence satellites are constituents of solar system.

If they do escape the sun’s gravity, then we cannot say they belong to solar system.

Anything revolving around a planet is called its satellite. eg moon is a satillite of earth. Satellites, planets, astroids and stars collectively constitute a solar system. Thus, a satellite, artificial or man-made, is a part of solar system because man made satellite too are energised by sun - rays.
