YES YOU CAN GET A DIVORCE MENTAL AND VERBAL ABUSE IS THE WORST KIND THAT YOU CAN GET. DONT CONTINUE TO BE WITH SOMEONE WHO DOES THIS TO YOU BECAUSE HIS ONLY OBJECTIVE IS TO BRING YOU TO A VERY LOW AND DEPRESSIVE STATE AND WHEN A MAN VERBALLY ABUSES A WOMAN THEY ARE ONLY TRYING TO BOOST THEIR OWN LOW SELF ESTEEM ISSUES

OH...you CAN get a divorce. Abuse of any kind is not acceptable inside or outside the church. Infidelity & abuse are the only Biblical grounds for divorce. If you have children, that is only an added reason to get out now before your children learn these traits. It isn't the easiest of things & perhaps you should have made a better choice, however that aside...God doesn't want any of His children tormented for life. Give it to God. He will let you know. God Bless.

Catholic churches have counselors, get marriage counsling. Just because your not supposed to divorce don't mean you cant leave him for a while and go stay at a relatives let him see life without you. maybe then he'll appreciate you more, and believe what you say when you say you dont like the verbal abuse.

i am also catholic and have been through this, how ever i was the abuser.my ex and i were together for 7 yrs and had 3 kids.It DOES turn physical.especially if there is drugs and alcohol involved. She got the courage to just get up and leave. And to tell you the truth she did the best thing for all of us by doing that,i didn't see that at the time but i do now.You need to get out,no talking about it.It is your choice-DIVORSE or BEATINGS?When would it stop,if you don't leave?

You need to talk to your priest. They may even grant an annulment or allow the divorce because of the circumstances. And if they don't, screw them and get one anyway. You can't stay in that situation when it could escalate into physical abuse.

sandra, you do not have to be abused in any way. almost every state has "no fault" divorce laws. the church has nothing to say about a divorce (though they would like that control). go see a lawyer. good luck babe.

get a boost of self esteem, and make up your own mind, people are only going to tell you answers based on their own personal experiences.
