My sister is a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) who does home health. She takes care of my sons that are 6 & 2 years old plus her own son that is 5 years old. She just found out her client will be gone for a month to visit family in another state. Now she will hardly have any money to support the kids & bills. Are there any programs to helps with these kind situations?

There isn't another job that she can take for that month?

If not, File for assistance at DSS/DHS/FIA - Department of Human Services - Medicaid, Food Stamps, Shelter etc.

Contact Salvation Army, Good Samaritan, Community Action Agency etc. for help.

Sorry but why should your sister pay the bills for your kids. But that is between you and your sister. She can get a job at McDonald's or other restaurants really quickly plus hospitals are screaming for nurses so she should not have an issue finding a job. I am sorry but just to look for a handout from the goverrnment is kinda discusting for me. You are supposed to take financial responsibility of your own kids. But hey I don't know the specifics so I should not judge. Where is the father? Grandmother? Grandfather? Relatives?
Did you think about asking your church for help?
Some churches help even if you are not a member. Food pantries can help to.
Again I would prefer that you guys were to take responsibility yourselves but we do not know the specifics

i'm sorry about your situation. however, i feel that you should give her assistance from your end. she will be taking care of your kids anyway. i don't think it's anyone's responsibility but your own to provide for your children even if you are taking care of another child. i understand that money is tight, but you also need to help your sister out - especially since she will not have the means to support them without a client.

i guess what you can do is get assistance for yourself due to your situation and give whatever you will get to her to provide for your sons and leave enough for you and your daughter in the hospital.

i am sure your sister will appreciate it.

If you give up temporary guardianship of your other 2 kids, she will get help from the government. One of my friends has temp guardian ship of her friend's lil boy and she's getting assistance. They set a date for when the mom is supposed to take her lil boy back.
