You left out the rest of the paragraph, biggot.
9 Do you not know that the unrighteous [2] will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders, [3] 10 nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
If you are going to quote scripture, at least give the whole quote. Did you not see the part that says, 'but you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord . . . ?' You cannot even begin to have a valid argument if you approach your source as a buffet table where you only pick out the stuff you like. Get a clue, or are you 12?

It’s amazing to see so many jumped to judge, criticized, and degrade this woman for putting a quote out of the bible. You are free to your own believes just as she is entitled to hers.
"Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders... will inherit the kingdom of God" 1 Corinthians 6:9,10.
Although this sounded harsh, notice it’s not directed entirely at the homosexuals. A couple listed were directed at heterosexuals as well. What was written there means what it says! It’s a sin if you're any of those! (There are more, but for the purpose of answering what was asked, I’m keeping it to those named here.)
Yes, it’s true we’re all sinners, and will be sinners till the day we die. We make mistakes constantly and repeatedly. But just like what my coworker said to her daughter after getting caught from lying to hang out with her friends…is that… “There are some mistakes you can make and learned from. Then there are those that could get you killed.”
Yes, God is love. It is love that convicts, converts, and transforms. But God loves the sinners…NOT the sins. The best example of this would be the story of Mary Magdalene. She was the adulterer that got caught and was about to be stoned to dead for her sin. But when they brought her to Jesus, He told them to stone her if only they don’t have sins themselves. The story ends with Jesus not only saving her from a painful death, but also asked her to sin no more. Another example is found in Genesis 19 in the bible. When the sins of men are so great…God had Sodom and Gomorrah destroyed.
So, all the said and done when the judgment day is upon us. We will be judged the same way. It doesn’t matter what you are...a Christian, an Atheist, or a Muslim, gay, straight or whatever. God will display his ten commandments. Each of us will stand in front of God and His Laws to be held accountable for all that we did and didn’t do with the times we had here on earth. The only different is, if you’ll have Jesus by your side or not pleading for your life. The bible tells you what you need to do to have Jesus there with you in the end.

OK the word homosexual was first used in the 19th century. So I know that, that word was not in the original inturpretation.
here is the litral translation
6:9 have ye not known that the unrighteous the reign of God shall not inherit? be not led astray; neither whoremongers, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor sodomites,
6:10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, the reign of God shall inherit.
But lets move up just a few verses shall we.
1 Corinthians 6:2 - 5
Dare any one of you, having a matter with the other, go to be judged before the unrighteous, and not before the saints?
6:2 have ye not known that the saints shall judge the world? and if by you the world is judged, are ye unworthy of the smaller judgments?
6:3 have ye not known that we shall judge messengers? why not then the things of life?
6:4 of the things of life, indeed, then, if ye may have judgment, those despised in the assembly -- these cause ye to sit;
6:5 unto your shame I speak: so there is not among you one wise man, not even one, who shall be able to discern in the midst of his brethren!
Now what this is saying is that it is not for us to sit in judgement on each other.

Read 7-8 before that. YOU, with your misinterpretations, are cheating and injuring your brothers. It also depends on the version of the bible you have. "Homosexual offenders" was probably once 'sodomites'. Which is translated to people who have unnatural sex. Unnatural sex would mean that I live a lie and have sex with women when I'm really attracted to men. Trying to say that my natural attraction to men is a mistake that God has made is a little rude to him you think? You also left out the part about drunkards, slanderers and robbers. The bible also tells us not to use birth control or eat pork. So dont do those things if your going to judge other people for what they do.
Here is what I think of the passage.
What I do is not sexually immoral. I dont worship false idols. I am faithful. Im not a prostitute. There is nothing unnatural about the sex I have.
Find a gay church in your area. There's one in every big city.

http://www.skepticsannotatedbible.com outlines a lot of contradictions and absurdities of the bible you may have missed in bible class.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0060738170/104-2868149-0663109?v=glance&n=283155 is a good book on how the bible quotations aren't really valid quotations.
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=5052156
summarizes the following:
Scholar Bart Ehrman's new book explores how scribes -- through both omission and intention -- changed the Bible. Misquoting Jesus: The Story Behind Who Changed the Bible and Why is the result of years of reading the texts in their original languages.
Ehrman says the modern Bible was shaped by mistakes and intentional alterations that were made by early scribes who copied the texts. In the introduction to Misquoting Jesus, Ehrman writes that when he came to understand this process 30 years ago, it shifted his way of thinking about the Bible. He had been raised as an Evangelical Christian.
Ehrman is also the author of Lost Christianities: The Battle for Scripture and the Faiths We Never Knew, which chronicles the period before Christianity as we know it, when conflicting ideas about the religion were fighting for prominence in the second and third centuries.
The chairman of the religious studies department at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, Ehrman also edited a collection of the early non-canonical texts from the first centuries after Christ, called Lost Scriptures: Books that Did Not Make It into the New Testament.

Glad to see there are still sub-humans around with half a brain for the enjoyment of the rest of us. Get your nose out of an outdated book of religious propaganda. Sit down some place quiet and take the time to open your heart to the lord. He is always wanting to talk to you. Instead you allow mere mortal men to fill your head with "religion". Look into the eyes of any man, and you will see God's hand at work. He has a purpose for every single one of us. He put us here and made us who we are, and it is not ours to judge his reasons. You see, this is what you do when you judge another.
I just need to slap you one more time. Do you actually think God gives a darn about someones sexual preference? Don't you think there is so much more to keeping the balance between good and evil that he doesn't really have the time to worry about bedroom activities. It seems reasonable that God would have a bigger problem with hate and violence than unconventional sexual affairs between people that he created in the first place. Open your eyes, think for yourself, and listen to your gut. That is God telling you what is right and wrong.

I agree with blah blah blah
I think it means noone is inheriting the kingdom of God. Noone who has premarital sex, homosexual sex, sex that varies from standard missonary intercourse, sex for pleasure (lust), or any adulterer, nor anyone who uses birth control of any form, or masutrbation, etc etc etc.
Since we're all going to hell in a handbasket, we might as well be happy (gay) along the way.
Consequently, anyone who judges another human being is also not a Christian, so thats why the other 3 or 4 of you who may have made it past the sexually immporal part will be right there with us toasting marshmallows.
If you can keep your religon out of my bedroom, I'll try not to have sex in your church k?

I am gay, and I am NOT a Christian, because I believe in God. Here's why I am not Christian.
Exodus 20:16...specifically the Ninth Commandment:
"Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor" or to put it another way. "DON'T LIE."
People who go around quoting 1 Corintians 6: 9 - 10 are misrepresenting words written by Paul, and the word allegedly spoken from God's lips into Paul's ear, thus they ARE bearing false witness, which is a violation of the 9th Commandment.
Here's how and here's why--bear with me, it involves two things that many Christians brazenly IGNORE when it comes to stating facts: HISTORY and MATH.
The first known appearance of the term homosexual in print is found in an 1869 German pamphlet that was written by the Austrian-born novelist Karl-Maria Kertbeny and published anonymously. (see note below for reference and credit).
Well, lets see...if you do that math stuff, which probably goes against some Biblical law, then you'll see that the term "homosexual" as in "homosexual offenders" could not possibly have been a part of the ORIGINAL content of First Corintians, and for those other bits about sexual offenders, I get the distinct impression that gays/lesbians/bisexual people aren't included in that category, but rapists and child molesters probably were...oh wait...child molesters probably weren't since there WAS no age of consent for female humans who were often sold or otherwise given by their families to men as wives, complete with a dowary on top of that. But I digress. Consent played no role in women's lives back then, and the moment that girls hit puberty, they were shipped off to their husbands...sexual molestation didn't apply to women and girls.
But back to the homosexual bit. 1 Corintians was written by Paul, probably in the spring of 55 or 56 AD, which kinda shoots the theory that he used the word "homosexual" out of the window. There's a HUGE difference between 55 or 56 AD and 1869 AD. Which brings me back to the whole "false witness" thing.
If the word homosexuality didn't exist until 1869 and 1 Corintians was written in 55 or 56, then does that mean that 1 Corintians was re-written (some people will even say ORIGINALLY WRITTEN) sometime AFTER 1869? And if so, WHY is it attributed to the Apostle Paul? (Could it be because he's dead and can't defend himself by saying: "I didn't write that?")
If 1 Corintians was written in 55 or 56, then WHY is the word "homosexual" even a part of the verse? The word didn't exist then and so anyone attributing THAT word to the Apostle Paul is LYING...in an old school way of putting it, they're bearing false witness.
Additionally: any attacks on homosexuality based on things said/written in modern interpretations of the Bible qualify as what a court of law would actually consider Slander...and maybe the reason so many gays and lesbians are busy bashing Christians is NOT because we're trying to shove anything down anyone's throats. Maybe we're bashing slanderers...which is just a fancy way of saying that we are actively engaged in the "righteous" act of attempting to silence LIARS who are running around telling US and everyone else that we're doing all sorts of things that we are clearly NOT DOING!
So, in answer to at least a part of your question, what does that particular verse mean to me? It's simple. It means that Heaven seems to be an exclusive and demented club, and since I haven't been granted membership, I'm not gonna worry too much about it. Quite frankly, I have more important things to do.

Homosexuality is a sin, that is widely accepted by most conservative churches. However, it is not greater nor lesser sin than say stealing, lying, lusting, etc. We are all sinners, just because someone is a Homosexual doesn't make them any more of a sinner than you are.
Being a Christian is not about "not being a sinner" but about accepting that you are one and accepting Christ as someone you purifies you off it, saves you from it, etc.
People who overemphasize homosexuality as a super sin, something that prevents someone from being a Christian, only contribute to the high suicide rate amongst the gay population.

Key word: "Offenders", there is the difference between being a homosexual and preforming a sexual offence.
Several people agree, that if you are agy but don't "Lay in bed with another man as you woukd a women" which means, have sex with them, you are not commiting a sin.
While I see this a crusail point, many read what they want.
