Ovechkin. He's more sure of himself and contains his emotions. Crosby is still too young and has a quick temper.

Although Crosby is a great player and will lead the Pens for years to come, Ovechkin is by far the more complete hockey player. Ovechkin brings a very strong offensive, defensive, and physical presence to the ice. There is little doubt that Ovechkin will lead the Caps into the playoffs within the next two years.

Hands down - Ovechkin. He did more with less in the nation's capital, and you never hear him whine about calls. Crosby nearly made 100 penalty minutes quicker than 100 points this season, while Alexander the Great was more mature from the get-go (oh what a year will do). Crosby would really have to step up his play and his leadership to make a run for respect against Ovechkin. (Honestly - who gives the captaincy to a rookie unless your name is Steve Yzerman?)

This will be a question that will stick with these guys for the rest of the careers. These two guys are obviously the future of the NHL. Ovechkin has tremendous ability with the puck and can snipe one in the back of the net whenever he wants to, but then you have Sid the Kid, he has great vision and can pass the puck with ease, next year expect more points out of him now that he has a year of experience, some people seem to forget that Ovechkin had a year of professional during the lockout season and was able to get a feel for playing against pro players, Crosby was in the QMJHL and once again dominated in scoring and led his team to a championship berth. Both of these guys will be fun to watch for the next 15-20 years and NHL fans should be grateful that the league has players like these. So to answer the question...It's a draw!

Ovechkin, and Crosby is from my home province and I still think Ovechkin is the better player. Yes, he doesnt like to pass, but who would Ovechkin pass too? At least he's not a cry baby like Crosby.

I have season tickets to the Caps. Clearly Ovechkin. I watch Crosby several times in person and there is no comparison at this point.
Time will also with these two. But Ovie is the most exciting player I have seen in a long time. The closest player I can compare him to at his age is Mario Lemieux. Ovie is on a bad team right now but so was Lemieux at his age and look what happened to him. Crosby needs to just play and do like Ovie stay out of the media. Quit crying. Just play your best.

Sidney Crosby all the way. Sure, Ovechkin is an amazing player as well. Oveckin is definitely a goal-scorer. But Sidney isn't out only for himself. He is a team-player and a play-maker. Sidney makes the guys around him look good. Could you imagine the points Sidney would rack up if he had a better group of guys behind him?
