I would give him an 8/9. We should not be too enthralled by poll numbers. Harry Truman left office in January of 1953 with poll numbers in the 20's. Today most historians view him as one of America's finest Presidents. On the other hand, WGHarding was exceptionally popular in his abbreviated term- 1921-23. He died of embolism in 1923. There was a genuine outpouring of grief when he did so, Today he is considered one of the worst Presidents in our Nation's history.

President Bush is the worst president we have ever had. He has done absolutely nothing to benefit the people of America and much to destroy it. If 1 is the lowest rating he should get 0.

7. The economy is doing well but government spending is up; his is the first administration to seriously challenge the deficiencies in public education (no, it isn't right yet but an attempt is being made); as much as people whine about his tactics on the war or terror, we haven't been hit since 9/11; he brought down a rogue dictatorship in Iraq and through diplomacy brought another one in Libya in line with UN resolutions; my federal income tax rates have gone down; he hasn't given in to pacifist nations that were double dealing with rogue nations; his administration was the first to increase CAFE standards for cars and emission rules for diesel trucks. He lacks the charisma of a Clinton or the presence of a Reagan, and therein lies the problem most people have with him, but he has been effective as a president nonetheless.

Pretty low. Not a 1, because we're far from Armageddon, but I don't think that most of his policies have turned out well. To be honest, I think Iraq has been one of his relative successes so far. His major failures are the massive increase in the deficit and the increase in the government's tendency to see itself as the people's ruler rather than its rightful place as the people's servant.

Those people who answered this question by claiming the economy is doing well are intellectually challenged. We are mortgaging our (and our children's) future. The economy is doing well in a macro sense but the micro economy is terrible for the average Joe. The deficit, balance of payments, immigration, health care for millions, education reform, deteriorating infrastructure, Iraq/Afghanistan/Iran/North Korea, ...let me count the ways. W and his cabal are not doing the US of A any favors. He is a ONE.
