On the Transmigration of the Souls by John Adams. It's harrowingly creepy and very, very modern. Hard to describe, but if stuff like Beethoven and Pachelbel makes you cry, this piece is probably too much. I myself couldn't listen to the whole thing and I am usually quite good at listening to classical music. It starts out with this little kid saying "Missing, missing, missing" and then in the background, more voices join in saying names of people and their relations (eg, "Dave was my uncle). They proceed to say "We miss you, we love you". I was listening to the sound sample somewhere and I was about to cry in the middle of the store. There's something about that piece that you don't want to listen to it because it's so eerie and sad, but it's oddly compelling. It's got a choir part, orchestra part, and children's choir part. I do not reccomend it as you will be haunted for days, weeks, or even months later depending on how sensitive you are to this kind of thing. And it's all in English. Certainly the most moving and saddening piece of music I have ever heard, classical or all genres, and I have A LOT of classical music experience. Research it or listen to the sound sample somewhere if you can find one--I know you will agree with me. Compared to that, Beethoven and Pachelbel are stoic.

Cannon in D-Pachabelle. It just makes me cry. It has a great melody and a great beat to it.....but it is so sad. The music tells a story.
