I got my daughters ears pierced when she was 11 months old, alot of other mothers said i was cruel for puttin her through that and it should be her choice.... yes in a way i agree but i remember what it was like and i'd rather her forget the pain than go through all da rigma roll if she was older, as it stands she has the choice to take them out and let the holes close up.....instead she went and got them pierced again lol she's 9 god help me when she's 15 lmao

My sister got my nieces done when they were two months old. It's really your choice. But if you do plan on getting it done as a baby I would do it soon. Because at 3 months she really hasn't found her ears yet. And you want them healed before she starts to play with them. If you wait till six months she might mess with them while they are healing. Make sure you get the right kind of baby earrings with the back that screws on though so they don't come off.

I plan to wait until my daughter asks for it. That's what my mom did. I think I was about 4 or 5. It hurt for a couple of seconds and then it just felt hot for a few hours. It was a great memory for me. My mom and I got matching earrings. The idea of willingly inflicting pain on my unsuspecting baby girl makes my stomach clench. She doesn't understand what's going on and I'm supposed to protect her from unnecessary pain. That's how I feel anyway. There's a bond of trust between mother and child and to do anything to endanger that, well, I just don't get why you would over something unnecessary. They may not understand what's going on but they know they see you standing there watching while someone hurts them and even if they don't remember the specific incident later I think it affects your relationship. I just don't get why you would risk it when the same experience can become one of bonding at a later age.

My daughter was 9 months old and she was fine when I had them pierced. She didn't cry when the first ear was done but she did cry for a few seconds when the second ear was done. You shouldn't feel rushed into having her ears pierced. Its a personal decision.

I wanted my girls to ask for it, so it would be their choice. My eldest asked me when she was 2. She hated the pain, but still loves wearing earrings to this day. My youngest daughter also asked at 2. We got hers pierced, but she hated it. They never healed up like they should have, and became infected about 3 months after the piercing. She got an infection in both, and the earrings had to come out while they healed. (I think the posts were too big and the holes never got a change to breathe). So she was happy when they came out, and very happy when they grew up. At 4 you can no longer see the holes at all and she is VERY happy to have unpierced ears. It was horrible how it happened to her, but I respect her choice (even as a little kid), so she'll never get them done again unless she asks for it again.

I got my ears pierced when I was about 1 week old... actually the doctors in the hospital offered to pierce my ears...they told mom I won't feel a thing and so my mom accepted. I am so grateful that the pierces in my ear were done so early... now I'm such a chicken....

I allowed my daughter to make her own choice. She waited until 13. I waited until 28 for my own. Don't be in such a rush to make her look grown up. Ear piercing is not the best thing for a baby anyway.

My mother had mine done at 2 months. I've always loved it. But I did have very sensitive ears. I couldn't wear anything other than 14k gold and up, not even silver for a while. Kids ears are more sensitive when they are younger, so beware of that.
I think 6 months is a fine age.

I was 17 when I got my ears pierced. My mother wanted to do it when I was still a baby, but my father wanted to wait so I could "Make my own choice"
I didn't like the idea, I really wish my mother would've done it early on, so I wouldn't have had to do it when I got older.

I wasn't allowed until I was 13 years old. Then I got them done. My sister wasn't allowed either, but when she was 13 she decided she might want to be a model one day, and models (makeup models at least) aren't supposed to have their ears pierced. So she didn't get it done.
Don't rush if you don't want to, you could always let her make her own decision when she gets older.
It's not like her earlobes are going anywhere, they'll still be there in 13 years :)
