get spackel at home depot.. depends on the size.. ask a person who works there whats the best way

You fix it with spackle. Large holes will require a wire mesh to be put over it first. It's easy, you just cover the hole like you're frosting a cake. Wait for it to dry. Sand. Paint. No more hole!

There are kits.

Small hole, use newspaper to fill most of the hole, plaster of paris to smoothen out the wall and paint to matc the rest of the wall.

Large cut away to studs, buy big piece, cabout same size of cut-out insert, use filler to smoothen paint and bask in admiration.

There are speckle kits available too.

Brick walls are harder.
