Why is it that conservative people are anti-abortion but pro death penalty?

Would it be ok to have an abortion if the parents said that they would be on welfare forever making you pay more taxes?? Or if that was the case then abortion is ok since you will benefit from it?

We want to save the innocents and rid the world of the guilty. And your problem with that is....

A good question. I don't believe in abortion, but I don't have a problem with the death penalty.

An unborn child is an inocent being that has done no harm to no one and innocence doesn't deserve a death penalty.

A person given the death sentence has more than likely killed some one or more than one someone. Now a days the jails are to full to keep someone locked up till they are dead. And I don't think it is fair that they don't share the same fate they have put on some innocent person/people somewhere.

am against abortion, but do not condone the killing of the doctors , nurses who work in those clinics. As for the death penalty, if someone brutally murders another, then death by lethal injection is a punishment befitting the crime. Also I think the death penalty should be established for rapists and child molesters as well. It has been prooven that molesters are repete offenders. I am only saying the punishment beftits the crime. It would be dumb to put someone to death for burglary.

There are 2 basic answers. The first is that if the fetus is a living being, which it is, then it should be given the right to determine its own existence. THAT'S choice too. The second is that people who are killed from the death penalty have made CHOICES that led to their death. They CHOSE to murder. Many people will make the argument that killing a murderer is not actually murder itself.
It DOES seem like a contradiction, that killing babies is wrong but killing people isn't. However, I would argue that people who murder aren't really people. They're already dead inside. Like hookers. Okay, I'm just kidding about the hookers. I didn't even make that up myself. Family Guy did.

Well the opposite is true of liberals. They are usually pro-abortion and anti-death penalty. Each usually has some argument to defend their point. However, in my opinion, to be true to either side you must be consistent. So...... anti both or pro both is the only true liberal or conservative.

Not all conservatives are that way.

I consider myself extremely conservative and am pro-life, and that includes with those who have forfeited their freedom due to their actions. At the same time, I am pro-military. I do see a distinction when it is imperative to defend the rights whe have established for ourselves against outside forces. That is a "kill-or-be-killed" situation, and I don't want to see any of our brave volunteers have to die.

Interesting comparison.
Unborn Child: Innocent & Defensless
Killer: Agressively Hurting/Destorying others

I don't know. Doesn't make sense: conservatives aren't big spenders, but it takes more tax dollars to kill someone on death row (due to all the lawyer fees and appeals) than it does to keep him/her in jail for life.

Because those are emotional issues that are easy to react to rather than have a logical stance on.

You can rally the masses with fear, not so much with philosophy.

Innocent baby... Bloodthirsty murderer.

Threat to no one... ongoing threat to society.

Liberals and conservatives each kill one of them. What seems right to you?
