That is in the very lower part of the back. Humans have 7 cervical vertebrae (C1-C7). Those are in your neck. Next you have 12 thoracic vertebrae (T1-T12). That is your mid-back. Then you have 5 lumbar vertebrae (L1-L5). You broke the last lumbar vertebrae. You also have a sacral vertebrae and a cocyxx...those are your tailbones. I had a compression fracture of L5 from a car accident. It hurts when I sit for a long time. Physical therapy helps. Take care.

L5 is the 5th lumbar vertebrae, at the very bottom of your spine, where it attaches to the sacrum, which attaches to the pelvis.

It's your last lumbar vertebra in your lower back. See the diagram here: http://www.spondylitis.org/patient_resources/spine_diagram.aspx

You should ask your doctor, surprising he/she didn't tell you and that you are not expressing any pain. So I'm guessing it's not really your back. But to answer your question, it is right at the level of your pelvis.
