i am very interested in becoming a film critic but i have no idea as to how i would go about getting into it. i would assume that i would need a degree of some kind, but what kind? will i be able to just review movies or will i be forced to write about other things as well? is it difficult to get into this field? etc.

I'd recommend starting out writing reviews for fun, maybe submitting a few to local papers to see if you can get published. I don't think you'd need a degree, but I'm sure a degree in journalism is what you'd need...which means that you would have to write about other things.
