We haven't been together very long, but I definitely trust him enough. I just worry that he'll think it's too weird or kinky. He's pretty open minded, but I have the nice-girl aura, you know? I don't want to spoil any illusions he might have about me. I know a lot of guys supposedly find restraint erotic. How should I bring the subject up to him?

Tough call, I give it a fifty-fifty chance of scaring him away. If he's really into you he will at least give it a try but TV shows like CSI and Law & Order Special Victims Unit don't paint the practice in a favorable light, common perception may be enough to send up warning flags for him. This is a dangerous lifestyle, you should be very careful... how do you know you can really trust this guy? He may be freakier than you.

I do not know your partner but i assume he is not a mind reader. It is best just to have an open conversation with him during your daily routine (private dinner, before a movie, or just hanging out.) If you trust him enough to be sexually intimate, then that same trust to be sufficient in talking about intimate wants and desires. Make it a topic of your own private conversation and state what you would like clearly (no beating around the bush.) You may want to start the conversation by asking him if there was anything he might like you to do in bed. Remember that sex is like any other action in the world. It is more rewarding if both parties are willing to give more than receive.

If you don not want to shatter any illusions then you have to be careful in how you Handel the situation.
Ask him generally what he think about restraints and if he talks positive or shows some interest then suggest that both of you can try it.
If he freaks out hearing about it just laugh it out and say you were just wondering what are his thoughts on it.

I would do it this way: Bring up how you heard it mentioned somewhere or you saw it on a movie, and have a conversation about it. Judge his reaction - does it think it's weird? Or does he think it's interesting? If you think he didnt find it totally repulsive, then you can work in the idea that you think it would be fun to try.

If you want to keep the nice girl image, Next time you 2 get drunk together, pretend you are drunk and tell him your wildest desire.
If you end up in bed bed that night, and he does what you tell him to do, well and nice, else forget it. Who knows even he might like bondage but is hiding it frm you just as you are?

if you really want to and you truly trust him , then just wait a while longer , you say you havent been together very long, he should after a time learn what you are into and the conversation will come up inevitably unless he is self centered.

if i were you i'd proberbly say nothing and wait until the subject of sex came up naturally and then say something...
however if you want to talk to him asap then just talk to him about it when it 'feels' right. maybe ask him if there is anything that he is interested in doing in bed etc... he will proberbly love the idea, esp if you have the good girl image!
