there may be no music on it
there may be music on it or you may not have used i tunes to put the music on it.
if all those are false
flip the switch to off, wait 5 seconds. then turn it back on.
if that dosent work
plug it into your computer run the ipod updater
then restore it
if that dosent work sent it back to apple
i am on my third ipod shuffle
i have had this problem before
