What is another really good brand of designer totes that isn't quite as expensive? I'm afraid to spend almost $300 on a purse.

trust me, it's worth it. I am a total purse whore. Since I was 16 I had wanted a Coach bag...my husband forced me to buy one, I spent $200 bucks (at the Coach outlet) and got a purse and a little like make-up bag. I loveeeee them!!! Honestly, I think Coach is low end of the high end - as far as price goes compared to LV and Gucci, etc. But now I have 3 Coach bags, the most expensive of which was $300. I adore them! You can buy from ebay but you might have to worry if it's real or not. I get mine from Macy's or the outlet...the outlet has last season's styles, but that doesn't bother me...

Think in terms of how much use you will get out of it. Is it something that you will be using primarily for work? If so, it may be worth the investment, since you should always dress for the job you WANT not the job you have. Also, a really nice purse instantly elevates everything else that you are wearing---that's where you can "save" by buying cheaper versions of pricer designer clothes.
I have the same philosophy about shoes and boots, too!

Yes my dad bought me a $300 coach purse on Monday for the 4th of July.... he said "As long as I use it I would buy it."

i think that having a designer just makes you feel a little extra special about yourself & going out, nicer.
if you're gonna buy it casually or you want more than one, try dooney and bourke. if you just want one bag and you're done with designer handbags try something like louis vuitton, prada, or chanel

coach bags are indeed the nicest bags....however, dooney and bourke are pretty nice too......you know, always check stores like tjmaxx and marshalls.....i have found a bag or two in those stores before.....alsso, ebay ......you can get some real coach bags for alot cheaper.......good luck
