I still haven't started my period yet. I thought this was normal when you're breastfeeding but my sis said I should be concerned. She said it may be a sign that I'm not getting enough nutrition. So, is this normal, or do I need to go see my dr?
Thanks for your advice!

Go to your doctor.

Since you are breastfeeding your hormones haven't returned to normal pre-pregnancy levels as of yet, so not having a period for a while can be normal. However, 6 months is a fairly long time. You might think about seeing your ob-gyn just to make sure that it's hormones and not something more serious at fault.

Everyone is different, even though you are breastfeeding, I would have thought you would have had at least three periods by now. However, you NEED to go see your doctor. There is a chance, (we'll hope this isn't the case), that you may be pregnant again. It happens!! I wish you all the best sweetie!!

I had 5 kids and breastfed all of them until over a year old and as long as I breastfed I didn't have a period. This is perfectly normal as God made woman so that it would serve as birth control while your other baby still needs the milk. I am positive about this, you are very normal!!!!!!!!!!

Normal when breastfeeding, but ask Doc when you go for a check-up. And by the way, enjoy the break from the pads/tampons! :)

Different women react differently. It's perfectly normal not to have a period while you are breastfeeding, just as it is perfectly normal to have one.

Regardless, you should always consult your doctor.

It's normal. While breastfeeding you do not get your period. If you choose to breastfeed for over a year, your period will return to your normal cycle even though you are breasfeeding.

If you are breatfeeding then it can take awhile for you to get your period but if your not breastfeeding then you should talk to your Dr about it.

Normal while you're breastfeeding - even for years, but ask your doc anyway.

This is normal so don't worry about it. I didn't get my period until 7 months later.

Its totally normal...

My sister has been breast feeding for 11 months and she still has got hers either. She was also concerned, so she consulted her GP and he assured her that her cycles will return to normal soon after she has stopped breast feeding!

Everybody is different so i wouldn't worry!
