I tried Hoodia and......
Hoodia has worked for me...and with no side effects.

For all you doubters, here is the prior feedback for another Answers user who followed my advice:

Asker's Rating: *****
very good comment i lost 2 lbs in a week
i think i can almost get in my leather dress, i can hit the town in no time

**** VERY IMPORTANT NOT TO GET RIPPED OFF ---

#1. Be sure you are buying pure Hoodia...look for the import certificate on the website. No matter the price, if they do not display this, you really do NOT know what you are getting!

#2. Be sure it is 100% Hoodia & not mixed w/other herbs, etc.!!

#3. Keep in mind it stops your hunger pangs…you MUST remember to break your habit to always eat at certain times.

#4. Drink a full 8oz. glass of water with it!

Yes, hoodia does work as a good appetite suppresant. I've been taking a supplement called Herbalean which also contains ephedra (un-banned and fully legal as of April 14th), and the first couple weeks, I had to set the alarm on my cell phone to remind me when to eat.

I only take one a day, and I have a lot of energy and no snack cravings all day. If you ever took MetaboLife, you'd love Herbalean. the extended release formula will keep you from getting the jitters like MetaboLife did, but still give you the great energy boost.

Its the main ingredient in Trimspa--when I first started using it last summer, I would say that it really helped curb my appetite, so I found it easier to keep my calories between 1200-1400/day. But the amounts keep changing as the Trimspa people keep adjusting the formulation or coming out with different versions, so lately I find it hasn't been as effective. When I run out I may just get plain Hoodia supplements and try to figure out the right dosage for me. I would say its worth trying, if you can find a reputable brand (like if its carried in a place like the VitaminShoppe or a health foods store that you trust)

I couldn't really tell. Try Stevia. It's a natural sugar substitute if you happen to use sugar for sweetening.
