is it "law" or jurisprudence that justifies ownership
or is it really just brute force in the end?

Could anyone own anything without guns, missles, landmines, soldiers, police, and prisons?

It is not possible to "OWN" anything. Most human beings have created and (for the most part) abide by the artificial framework of "ownership".

Being a part of the universe means just that, even ones own thoughts are subject to countless influences and in that, that imput has an equal and opposite output in some form or another.

As soon as more become aware of such things and start acting accordingly, the better off everyone will be. Human nature dictates however that "enough" isn't really enough, some want more and more so they take from others, others in turn try to prevent it..... And the cycle continues. :(

"Property" is a power that you have. The powers has many different aspects to it. For example if you "own" an house you have the power to live in it, sell it, rent it, exclude people from it, prosecute trespassers and nuisances.

The WAY you acquired the power is irrelevant. It could be through brute force, labor, or through "social contract." It is irrelevant really as long as you can exercise your powers one way or another.

Obviously -- NO power is absolute, so someday someone may dispose you of your property, by brute force or otherwise.
So really ownership is no different then any other power that you might have-- you have it one day, but may lose it on the other.

Those all are very good questions, and very interesting.. I myself believe, that whatever we own, we really dont because, when we die, we cant take it to Heaven, with us.. But, while we're on earth, we're suppose to be "Good Stewards" of what we own.. So, that we can loan things out, or pass them down, and so on...I hardly doubt, we'll ever, not have weapons, the police, etc. ..Because, even one of the "Ten Commandments" are to obey, the law... So, in order to obey the law, we will have lawmen.. Its a sad world we live in today, isn't it.. But, if we just simply ask for God, to give us His joy, then maybe, we wouldn't have to look at all the ugliness around us the way we do.. I'm guilty of it too. I have alot of questions, to ask, God, when this life of mine, is over, believe me, I'll be up there talking His poor ear off. Ha!! Ha!! Smile, it could be worse, and eventually will get worse, we do know this much, so lets try to enjoy today, for today. The best possible way, we can, is all we really can do, you know.

Property is all about law, or rules.
Possessing things or owning them is not the same thing.
Possession may belong with compassion, friendship, chance,
brute force and so on.
Property comes down from law only.

You answered your own question.
Purchase is a legal term.
Therefore it takes brute force, You cannot own anything without people respecting your ownership.

Unfortunately, due to man's base nature, we must enforce ownership through the concept of justice through laws.

Property begins before law. Force protected property. Society formed around property. The deal was you look after may property, I look after you. Think feudalism. In the end, however, the richest person could always take what he wanted. And courts belonged loyal to the rich person, so; there was no recourse. So NO, purchasing something doesn't make it yours. Just ask all the merchants who lost their property back when Iran had its revolution.

Ownership is a fallacy of logic.

We can have influence or control over people, places, and things...but that influence or control must be granted by another. Whether that other is stronger or weaker, ultimately, it is the common agreement that the "others" do not have or exert influence or control that allows us to "own". In a very real way, nothing on this earth is owned by any of us.

Ownership is sanctioned by law in civilized societies and enforced through due process of law.Purchasing as per law only result in ownership as purchasing stolen property, purchasing a thing from a person who does not own it etc.do not result in ownership

God owns everything because he created everything. We merely hold on to what we have by his permission. He has the right to revoke our "ownership" at anytime and there is nothing we can do about it. Satan thinks that he owns this world, but actually he holds it illegally, having stolen it from Adam. Someday, God will evict him and throw him into hell along with all the other people who think that they own this world and everything in it. If somebody demands your property, then let them have it---you don't own it anyway. If you release it voluntarily, then God will replace what you have lost with something better.

No. There is no ownership without force. Even in a society where peaceable folk agree to respect one another's property rights without the threat of force, there are always those who do not consider themself bound by that agreement - and so you'll need force to repel them.

Best wishes and God bless.
