The ultra thin ones do protect just as well, if not better. Some people just have a hard time with change. My mom has been using the same thick Kotex pads forever. Yuck. I prefer the Always Ultra thin.

I suppose it would depend on how you're built, and what kind of coverage you need. A thin pad may work just as well as a regular sized one for one woman, but not for another. It's a matter of personal preference. Some like thick, some like thin, some prefer tampons, and the list goes on and on...

Larger women prefer a thicker pad then some women . I think that it just all depends on the size of the person. larger women seem to have a harder time keeping a thin pad in place.

They don't like change...get used to a product no matter how big and bulky and think nothing can work better.
