The Cannabis Cup is a festival that was started in 1987 by High Times editor Steven Hagar, who came to The Netherlands for an interview with the founder of Holland's first cannabis-seed company. The Australian owner, Nevil, lived in a mansion filled with growrooms that Hagar dubbed "The Cannabis Castle". The festival, held annually in Amsterdam, The Netherlands is one of the famous cannabis events among pot-smokers and cannabis-oriented businesses. The public is exposed to a large variety of marijuana strains which are judged by the public. A team of judges decides every year what company brought the best marijuana, best new product or nicest booth to the festival.

In 2006, the 19th Annual Cannabis Cup will be held in Amsterdam the week of Thanksgiving from November 19th – 23rd. Opening Ceremonies start on Sunday, November 19.

Amsterdam is great. They do have great museums, like the marijuana museum, the marijuana college, both in the Red Light District. The RiieksMuseum, Van Gogh museum,etc. Try a restaurant where you can get the Riesstaffel (Rice Table) it's like a little buffet brought to your table(for2).
