I am not as fussed about his previous marriage as I am about not telling me sooner. I think back to conversations and feel foolish about my comments, having not known. We had been thinking about our relationship differently and now I have doubts about everything. Has trust been broken, or am I just being a baby with fantasy ideals?

So he just told you he has been married before?? That is something you should have known within the first few months of dating. Let him know you feel betrayed that he wasn't upfront about it. It's probably no big deal, maybe he thought it would scare you away but he should have been more upfront.

If he was married - he should have told you. I do believe that you cant be upset for someone not crawling out from under a rock and for having a life before meeting. And I do not believe that you should know EVERY detail about a person (there is plenty my husband doesn't know about me - although he thinks he does) but being married before is a big deal, something you should have known from the start.

When the trust is broken it's hard to trust again and with no trust there is no relationship. Why make yourself miserable, get out and regroup. You're not a baby with fantasy ideals, honesty is not a fantasy.

You have every right to not have been left in the dark concerning past relationships. You dont need all the details but you should have been informed of serious relationships. I would wonder what else he is hiding too.

The past should be left in the past . But it seems odd that he never told you. you need to make sure he isnt hiding anything, if not just let it be. look toward the future. you cant live in the past.

it's a tough one. Some say the past is the past and you should leave it there, however, sometimes it is important to know. Sometimes it comes back to haunt you, most people never change and if they lied, they will do it again.

I was married for 13 yrs and my sweetheart was married for 20 years before we both divorced and met each other. What he did before I met him doesnt matter to me and what I did before doesnt matter to him. The past is the past......leave it there.
