It was banned during prohibition when alcohol was also banned, but when they were about to let it be legal again with alcohol several famous people drowned because they were high and so they decided to keep pot illegal.

Pot is the least harmful of all intoxicants. Nicotine, which is even more addictive than heroin is legal. Alcohol (cause of alcoholism, DUI deaths, broken homes etc) is legal. Pot is less addictive than anti-depressants and prescription pain killers.
Tobacco is an industry. Booze is big business and pharmaceuticals control the govt.
Simply put - there is no money in pot.

I am tempted to just speak my mind, but I better not. It’s banned for a couple reasons: The government cannot make money off it, and when any drug is used for "recreational" purposes, it soon becomes an addiction, and begins impacting that individual's life, then there is trouble.

Simple - The Government can't make any money off it. Up in Canada, it's decriminalized, and in the process of being legalized, but, we're a long way off.
Personally - you look at smokes. Worst thing somebody can do, but, i do it, and so do many others.

i think its b/c the govt or whoever is afraid that they wont be able to control you as well (cuz they want to control you) because they cant really test to see how high you are like with alcohol were they can do a breathalizer or look at your blood, they can only tell if you have used in the past month or something.... and they want you to buy prescription drugs

Because it is too hard to tax and makes stupid people more stupid, and that is just what America needs - more stupid people. Lord knows we don't have enough of those here.
