Is there a difference between a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Creative Writing? Does it really matter which one you graduate with?

I'm not aware of a difference at that level. At the master's level there is a big difference between a Master of Arts in English with a creative writing focus and a Master's of Fine Arts in creative writing. One would set you up to pursue a doctorate and be much more of an "academic" degree. The second is focused much more on your own writing. Both can get you undergraduate teaching jobs, however.

Apparently, a BFA is mostly an undergraduate degree for the visual or performing arts. I haven't heard of a BFA for writing. This isn't to say that it doesn't exist. But anyway it depends on what you want to do after college. Having a BA might be better, in that it sort of implies a more rounded liberal-arts education, while a BFA implies a lot of studio work. It's more specialized, and that might not open up as many opportunities.

I don't know about that one specifically but my wife works in the local University and I asked her about the difference between a BA and a BSc and there is a pretty large difference there. As regards BA's and BFA's, well I'd spend a bit of time asking the careers adviser at the local University and any others who are around.- We're spending 3 years at Uni, so we may as well put in one or two days asking the experts.

Btw, I'm going for a BSc. Then a Masters, and then a Doctorate.
