How often is often enough to mow. if I start mowing my lawn, she will get out her lawnmower and start mowing. I don't know how she affords all that gas. She mows about an acre and then trims and mows and trims and mows. She mows that whole lawn every couple days. Its a joke in our family. Could she have a nervous condition?

Mowing often is good for two reasons. First, it helps keep weeds from getting a stronghold in your lawn. Second, it keeps the lawn looking nice. Lawn experts recommend only cutting 1/3 of the grass length or less, so you have to mow often unless you are mowing high. Your only solution to this situation is to pray, hope and subtly suggest that she cut her lawn higher. This will help both of you. She will still have a prize lawn and you will not have to hear her mow every few days :)
Your problem is much better than a neighbor that has a dirt lawn full of weeds.
