My God I'm a nerd.

This is a great question though. It ought to be on personality quizzes or dating sites and stuff like that.

Well, given that I've long been a trivia buff, though I don't watch Jeopardy! as often as I once did... and assuming my synapses were firing on all cylinders... and that I was willing to risk public humiliation by appearing Jeopardy! in the first place... I guess I'd go with the following:

19th Century Literature
American History
Film Directors
The Battle of Britain
Ice Hockey
State Capitals

I could easily substitute several of those and, were it permissible, I'd likely make them all History or Literature categories, but I was trying to make my list look like a plausible and balanced Jeopardy! board.

And although you didn't ask, yes, Alex, I'd like to make this a true Daily Double! :)

There's a quiz in the U.K called 'University Challenge', which asks incredibly complicated and long-winded questions of academias best and brightest. Usually i'll get a few questions right in the whole show and spent most of the time trying to understand the question.
I often 'play' rthis with my brother to see who gets the most right; he usually wins. However on one occasion the 'specialist subject' was 'Mustelids of the British Isles'; doing a Ph.D on a Mustelid (mink) of the British Isles (Ireland is often considered one of the British Isles much to the annoyance of the majority of Irish people) I was in a good position to thoroughly wipe the floor with my brother and feel very smart and smug!
