i hear ppl say how much they love this singer/band. and i also see on facebook and myspace that ppl list a few of their favorite singers/bands. so if they just have a few that means that they are so secure of their taste in music.
im the total opposite. i dont have any favorite artists. i have favorite songs.
or am i just insecure?

No, you are not insecure. There is nothing wrong with liking a wide variety of music, and there is nothing wrong with liking specific songs (especially since many albums only contain one or two good songs).

My own music library is large and diverse, containing almost six thousand songs by more artists than I could ever fit on a myspace profile.

Of course not. . . I've had to deal with weird looks for years from my peers because I'm the same way. I like music period. . .from rock to jazz to hip hop to R&B to pop to rap to classical and anything else on the earth, I like it all. I have never had a favorite singer/band, but I do have songs that make my top ten list. Don't worry. . .it just means you're more open-minded. =)

You have a open mind! Nothing wrong with not being "into" any particular band/singer, I imagine you have a variety of tastes and don't listen to just one particular genre.

favorite songs lead to favorite artists. if you have six or seven songs by a certain band you like, it's safe to say you like them at least.

if you want to judge your insecurities, take a closer look at the songs you're picking as your favorites.

there is nothing wrong with you! some people just don't have a "favorite" band... although you may feel insecure, maybe you don't particularly like some of the band's other songs...i have hundreds of favorite songs...all in different genres...
so, no, there is nothing wrong with you musically
