Also Whoopi won an Oscar in 1990.

Contrary to what another person answering said, Whoopi Goldberg is well known for what she does for the world. Goldberg has been recognized as well for her humanitarian efforts on behalf of children, the homeless, human rights, substance abuse, and the battle against AIDS.
Although not as rich as Oprah she is just as equal as a philanthropist.
I'm sure Oprah has her reasons, seeings as it was her Ball and her publicity, but at the same time, yes, it was a slap in the face to Whoopi, but if I know Whoopi, she don't give a ****. Oh yeah!

I guess that depends on Oprah's criterion for recognizing someone as a legend. Personally, Whoopi is great, but not a legend.

Oprah acts too white, and Whoopi is so funny neither are legends in my mind, they just got lucky, Lucy Ball is a legend !!

I would consider Whoopi and Oprah on about an even path---if Oprah dissed WHoopi--then thorns and wilted roses to Oprah.

technically she won a supporting oscar or else people wouldnt have made a big dill about haley berry winng in 2003 or watever Oprah isnt realy into the things she was into when she was fatter she was black then but now shes shinny so shes becoming white dont know why she had to change but half the people there werent legends just people highly talked about by oprah but when u think about it whats a legend anyways its your opinion and oprahs opinion isnt that important it wasnt a world legends bowl casue a lote of the people ther arent respected or held in a high status to others it was just as it was called oprahs legends ball it was actually for people who have been in movies that she was in or produced or had anything to do with and that was all
