so im a citizen as well, so even i can get welfare out of the blue? god i love this country!:)

Puerto Rico is a commonwealth of the US, and its citizens are therefore eligible for some of the same rights.

why did the US of A sterilize Puerto Rican Women (1/3 of the women in the 1950's)? Why did the US of A test drugs on Puerto Ricans without their consent or knowledge (also during the 1950's)?

DO you remember that we invaded in 1898 and never gave them their freedom? Do you remember the PR National Guard fought in Vietnam and every other war we've been in?

Puerto Rico is under our control. It is not a state but a commenwealth. We control their government, currency and civil services. Puerto Rico is part of the country so they deserve the same liberties and benefits that Americans do who live on the mainland. Also Americans don't need to get a passport to travel to Puerto Rico!

Because they're citizens of the U.S. of A. The island is a territory of the United States, and while they retain commonwealth status, they are still US citizens.

The real question is, why do the Mexicans hate the Porto ricans. Something to do with spices used in the food? Or sombrero styles.

because they are now part of the USA, besides that welfare is from the state, not the federal government
