We are the envy of the rest of world! Where else could you answer this question "no" and not be sought after! On the eve of our Independence Day, I can envision my grandparents (all 4 of them!) coming through Ellis Island, scared to death, but at the same time relieved they were finally here! Like hitting the FREE space in Monopoly! I don't understand the lack of gratitude of so many!
God Bless Us, One and All!

I am so proud to be an American. We are what the rest of the world covets: FREE. I have NEVER met anyone who is NOT a PROUD AMERICAN! There is no such thing as an "ashamed american". Furthermore, I have never met anyone who would not JUMP at the chance to come here and be a citizen of this great country.

I refuse to label myself. I'm proud to be a human being that tries to do the right things at all times., and I'm proud of anyone else who does the same, regardless of their race, or heritage. There's good and bad in all countries, including this one.

You are correct. Patriotism may not be the product of naivette but "Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel". When you can't get people to support you for anything else, you raise a hue and cry in the name of patriotism.. "Oh we are under attack.." and everyone gets in line behind you.
Grow up Americans. Grow the fu*k up.

Most of the time. I like what America is supposed to stand for, but I detest the way some people pervert it.
