Hi. Assume it's Windows based so I would start with a "defragment".(Start>All Programs>Accessories>System tools>Defragment) Then find the good free programs to clean out spyware and adware.

disable anything that starts up in tray! You don't need anything in the system tray. but it's nice to have volume control if not on speakers. seriously if programs start on their own they take up RAM and Virtual Memory even after you click close! you have to restart windows to get that back. Also Defragment your Hard Drive! get rid of Norton if it's an older PC (Norton 2004-present) besure to replace with Anti-virus such as TrendMicro, AVG, Avast or other Top-Rated Anti-Virus. be sure to check for system requirments!!!

There is a free program that cleans up your registry and and fragmented programs you can get it here:
http://www.ccleaner.com/download/
Also you can get adaware to get rid of spyware:
http://www.lavasoft.de/support/download/
Also if you goto Start, Run and type in msconfig in the run window. Go to the startup tab, you can uncheck anything you are not using. If you need any help you can email me.

Don't Format, go into the control panel and add remove programs and uninstall any programs that you do not need. Also disable any programs that run automatically at startup. These things should help

first thing you have to do is to run spyware and adaware programs and if you have anti virus program run that. iam sure that will help you.and if you have many unused icons on desktop remove them. if you have any unnecessary program remove them by going into start, control panel, add or remove programs.iam sure u will get the desired results.

Before messing with the companies computer, get permission. There is a free program, called Advanced Window Care I used that cleaned up the computer and it runs fine now. Please check with your job first if it's ok to put it on their computer. You can download it at: http://www.download.com/Advanced-WindowsCare/3000-2086-10407614.html
