The details vary by State. By all means find yourself an attorney. If you can't afford one, try Legal Aid. I'm including a couple of links to websites that may help you.

Just play by their rules, and hope and pray for the best.. The children are repeatly asked the same questions over and over until the right answer is heard.. Just hire or own attorney and make sure u make them work for you, don't take a state paid...

You have to go to court, straighten yourself out, and prove that you are now responsible. The children will be questioned about their home life. It could take a while for everything to work out, you'll have to be patient.

you get them back by cleaning up your act, if no criminal charges are filed it will go through family court.
