I have too much email, and too many email boxes. I don't even know why I created so many in the first place--probably because some were running out of storage, and because I thought I would use different names for different purposes. Well, now it's a big mess. I don't use Outlook because the program hasn't worked right on my computer (I bought it used, without the software in disc form). I've thought about downloading Eudora, but I don't know much about that program, and in any case, I don't want to have all the email actually on my little laptop; I prefer webmail. So, to sum up...being in general one of the world's more disorganized people, I have made a mess of my email, and now want to make it more organized. Have any of you faced this problem, and what did you do?

I would keep only 2. One for business and another for play. then I would check one every other day alternating day for about an hour or so.

I had that problem, and MS just came up with a program to fix it if you have XP. Have all your email address, go directly to your home box in Outlook. Also I have figured out how to use the spam blocker in Outlook Express, don't know if it is the same for Outlook. But here goes.
Click on your email and if its junk, or spam, or just someone you don't want to hear from, click 'tools' 'message rules', blocked senders list. then click okay. Or also in the box that comes up you can add emails that you don't want to receive emails from. click OK and then it will disappear. You can do this until the cows come home, but most of the junk or spam mail will be automatically deleted. Also in this program you can set a 'wav' to let you know that you have email. Find one on the Internet or record your own on the program you already have in your computer. Good Luck.

Some of these email addresses may offer forwarding, so you may be able to consolidate accounts that way. If there are addresses that don't get any important mail, just close them. For the rest, inform whoever is using them that your address is changing.

Personally, I much prefer to use Outlook, so I can filter and sort the emails before I have to look at them.
