Find ways to increase what you do at work.

Go to your bosses and show them that you can accomplish more.

Your doing more will increase the over all productivity and increse profitability. This should make you more valuable to your employers.

To not do a full day's work is cheating both the employer and the other workers.

Clean out your desk - purge files and throw away things you no longer need. Put together a list of duties you do each day and after a few weeks, if you have a lot of spare time, ask your supervisor for something you can work on that would help others in the department when you're caught up. Someone who shows a desire to keep busy and help others will be remembered at the end of the day. Someone who shows that they want to be a productive employee, will receive the benefit of the doubt if things get tough.

Find something to clean. Something small so you can just space out or file. Then after 40 minutes do something else in a different spot. All that matters is that no one sees you doing the same thing all day. Ummm unless it's part of your job.

I get on the internet and browse. I have another screen up with the internet so I can click on the work related one when I hear footsteps.
Maybe you could read a book. Just hold it down low so no one can see.
