Don't pick on the scab. And if the scab is already gone, try using some Neosporin over the cut. If the cut is already gone, it might be really hard to fade the scar, but the best you can do is avoid the sun and use sunblock when going outside. The heat will blotch the affected area and you may get nasty brown marks. You can always go to a dermatologist and get some Exoderm. It helps make scars lighter.

Apply Neosporin in the morning.
Avoid sunlight on affected area.
Apply pure Vitamin E, at night.

Massage Helichrysum Italicum Essential Oil into scar, once a week.

There is a prescription cream/gel called Mederma that workes good to reduce scars...my husband used it following ankle surgery and it has reduced his scar significantly. You may want to be cautious if you have sensitive skin, tho. I tried it on the scar on my foot from recent surgery but it caused irritation, I have problems with excema.
Otherwise, vitamin E oil daily and gentle massage

Apply vitamine E directly to the scar. They come in these soft capsules,cut them open and rub the liquid into it.Do this either at night or day but if you do it in the am,apply cocoa butter on it on the opposite time of day. Also aaloe vera plant is good for burns and scars.

Use Vitamin E capsules broken up and then spread over the scar. It works wonders. Make sure that you are gettig the natural dl- Vitamin E.

go to a good plastic surgeon, there are also traditional means of getting away with scars like a herb called "dulao" in the philippines, it works wonders...
