If I ask for a print, and then turn on the printer, it sometimes works. I also have trouble telling if it needs ink, and I do not know how to reset the printer when I replace the ink.

Sounds like you have the wrong drivers installed, or installed them incorrectly. With most printers, you need to install the drivers before hooking the printer up the computer, especially if using a USB connection.

You could have the wrong drivers installed. For example, an 820cse is different than an 820i. Go to Canon's website and get the latest drivers for your printer. I have a Canon printer and sometimes their drivers are a bit buggy. You may just have a bad driver that needs updating.

First Unplug the printer and disconnect the USB out of your pc then plug the printer back interior the placed the USB in a diverse port than the single you used final time Then restart the activity determine you click "printer" Then uncheck " Use printer offline " and confirm "Pause printing" is uncheck as properly :)

Uninstall driver. Restart computer. Re-install driver.

Get a new printer.

Hp 5600 series are great and inexpensive. I love mine. Only $100.

I think you have a lot of stuff running on your computer(modem,fax,router,etc).I think my best guess is you have a computer is slow. I think to lower down on downloading.

might be you are using the wrong driver, or maybe the paper feed motor is malfunctioning.
I suggest taking it in for service.
