If the coils are not all stopped up with dust then it it most likely low on freon. Some units don't have a port to fill with freon and a saddle tap will have to be purchased from an appliance parts store if not an a/c service man. Freon cannot be purchased here without the proper license. Good luck.

You have solved your own problem. Airflow is virtal to ac units
If the airflow is restricted and no air moves across the coild in front there is no coolong so the coils you see will freeze what mositure is flowing across them
Buy a filter and change when ever you coldness drops filter are very important
turn it off and let defrost, then brush with a kinda stiff brush if you see a sliver spot where the fins have been pushed together open them up you need air flow, be careful not to push these fins together while cleaning them

What you observed whilst the A/C misplaced this is refrigerant replaced right into a mix of gas and oil. there is unquestionably no project with reference to getting ill. Your clothing and so on could be wiped sparkling commonly with detergents which eliminate oil. the only element risky at your residence is your freaked out buddy.

It might be low on Freon.........you can buy R-34 Freon at the hardware store in some states.....not all. But I think you can buy a freon gauge from like Wal-Mart in the automotives dept.
