Because our society has taught us that a bare chest of a woman is a sex organ in the way that it is not with a man's chest... If you go to other countries they don't care about it as much because they are taught and see breasts as just part of a woman's body...

I'll take a long time before our society considers that a woman bare chested a normal as a guy bare chested...

But, for the record... I really don't want it allowed for either sexes.. because normally you see the ones you really don't want to see anyway...

Were you trying to make a play on words, "bear chested"? Or did you mean "bare chested"? Men are by far hairier than women, except for the East German women's swim team, so they would be better bears. However, if you are referring to the other bare chested, there is absolutely nothing wrong with women going so. It's only natural. Most civilized countries have no problem with such.

While that is a good thought... The reason women can not go BARE chested is because our breasts are part (or can be) of an erotic arousal. They're sorta sex organs besides their role of nurturing a baby. Men's breast can be sensitive, but are less likely to be looked at as a sexual organ.

Look, if you want to go bare-chested, I won't complain. Breasts in our culture are secondary sexual characteristics. Just as if I walked around with my penis hanging out, it would be considered obscene, you walking around with your breasts uncovered would garner a lot of attention - wanted or unwanted. Or can you imagine the complaints from women if breasts became de-sexualized and were looked at as nothing more interesting than a belly button. Women do a lot with their busts to their own advantage to attract men. Its one of those things.

You can't sexualize the body part and de-sexualize all at the same time.

Women's breasts are a secondary sex gland and bare breasts are seen as indecent exposure in most areas of society, where as a man's chest isn't due to the fact that the nipples on the chest are actually a product of development in the womb.

Sexiest or Sexist. Either way, because this a "man's world". I really don't care to have DD's bouncing freely everwhere I go though. I don't care for men to be gauking either, although sometimes its nice.

But we really need to examine, why women would want to go topless. Do you? Is it because men do? Should we women do everything men do? I'm really tired of competing with men. I don't care what they do. If all men want to go to hell with gasoline thongs on...should women want to as well??? LMAO

We are not men, we can't do what men do. Plus, some women like myself willl get way too much attention if I were to be barechested. It's a double standard but I agree with it.

The same reason why women wear low cut blouses and hang out their wares, imagine if men started to show their privates.

lol - good question. women aren't as fascinated with the male nipple as men seem to be with women's. men made this standard happen because of their ogling over nipples. Why are men like this? that is the real question here. thanks guys for being so dirty minded - women could have enjoyed going bare breasted during the summer. gee...

It's our culture, that's all. If you lived in a culture where women go bare chested all the time, it would be no big deal seeing them.
