I'm a lifelong Pistons fan, and...
I'm disappointed, but not at all crushed by the move.
Wallace helped define the Pistons. His hunger and drive led us into becoming the team that we were. However, that drive is now mostly gone. He has been a shell of himself recently, and I don't think his moving on is going to be that detrimental to the Pistons. Of course, the fact that we can't sign anyone to replace him (because of salary cap issues) is a bummer, but I prefer a starting lineup of Sheed and Mcdyess anyway.
As for Wallace, I think he is making a huge mistake. He was always going to be popular in Detroit because of all he contributed to us becoming a great team, but the fans in Chicago will not be nearly as forgiving. How many 4 point, 7 rebound nights will they put up with? How long will they be happy playing 4 on 5 on offense? Not to mention, 30 percent free throw shooting? I think Wallace is in for a very, very rough time in Chicago and will majorly regret making the move for a couple million more dollars.
I'm looking forward to the playoffs next year when the Pistons are playing 5 against 5 on offense, it will be a great change.
So, good bye Ben, thanks for the memories, but I think we'll be okay without him.

Why wouldn't Joe Dumars offer him 60 million like the Bulls did? Then maybe Big Ben would of stayed it's not like the Pistons don't have the funds.
