I'm sure the war-mongers in the U.S. would love to have N. Korea try something. Then they would have the reason they've been looking for, to attack.

Kim Jong Il and his cronies know perfectly well that they are no match for the American war machine. If they were to lob a nuke at California or Hawaii, we could wipe out the entire North Korean military within a week or two. And there wouldn't be the kind of resistance we're seeing in Iraq, because North Koreans absolutely LOATHE their leaders and would see such an invasion as a liberation.

How can Bush still be president after all he has done really? This thing with North Korea and the lies with Iraq. He is quite literally foot steps away from having a nuclear weapon at the door.
He should be impeached and soon unless people want a big hole in the ground where the U.S.A used to be.

The doom and gloom crowd here are amazing. The world will not self destruct if the North Koreans take out a US city and the US responds by turning North Korea into a sheet of glass. Who, exactly, is going to start firing nukes at us after we defend ourselves, assuring THEIR own destruction as well??? No one, sparky.
The North Koreans are completely full of sh!t, as usual, and are playing to the US media, who mindlessly lap up their nonsense like eager little puppies.

well we are spying on them, and everyone else...
and they do probably want us to leave...
beyond that though i take it as just a bunch of saber rattling, even if they are able to do a nuclear strike, as they have to know that while they might hit us with three or four maybe at best, that they would get totally squashed...still it was probably a mistake to label them as an axis of evil (cheney or rumsfeld or some other high level administrator must just have a bone to pick with them) as this labeling seemed to be what started most of this recent chest puffing in the first place.

They do have the capability to do this and their president or whatever they call him is crazy enough to do it. We also have the capability to strike a missile that is on it's way to the USA. We are always watching other countries 24hours a day, 7 days a week. China is the one to worry about. They've been building their military for years, not sure about the numbers but I think they are close if not already there at out numbering us.

North Korea has the capability to do so, but there is alot of doubt that they would do it since a war would most likely destroy what, if any, helpful structures they have (hospitals, fire depts., etc.). It would also mean total destruction of Kim Jong-Il's ruthless control of North Korea, which is a good thing.

Sabre rattling and they have been since the 1950's!
N Korea doesn't have the nukes to launch, and if they did it would be the last thing they would ever do!!

Oh well, we wanted to test that missile defense system, anyhow.
And we would find out if they really have the weapons they say they have....
Do you really think they are up for suicide? They can't feed their people without foreign aid, you know. They are literally starving. I guess we would see what happens.
Did they actually say they would hit us? I didn't see that (and they could barely reach Alaska, if that.) Who do you think they'd go for?
It think they are just trying to divert attention from Iran.

We don't have to invade North korea to collapse it. Just demolish all bridges across the Yalu river. The U.S., though needs to be able to intercept the missiles.
