Now these days you really dont have to have good credit. But you might need a good down payment. First thing to do is get with a loan officer that can go through your credit report and tell you if you need to pay off your debts before you can get a loan...once that is done you need to start looking for a home. The best thing to do is clean up your credit..it will look better and it will also help your FICO score!! Good Luck

My guy is a licensed broker, he could talk to you we've both been in the industry processing loans for people with not so good credit. it's not as hard as you think. Do you know your fico? are you single and have a steady job? if you want to email me feel free. Basically what we look for is two year employment history rental history, fico scores and the property your interested in purchasing. Are you a first time home buyer? There are lots of personal questions involved when preparing to buy a home. So i dont expect you to post anything online. Work on paying your bills in a timely manner, try to reduce your debt/ save money for a down payment. I could go on but it may take up too much space. like i said email if you want to know more.

Talk to the bank or there is always the phone book. Watch for that interest rate. Good luck!
