Siva, there are many resorts in Goa to stay but almost all of them disappointed their patrons sometime or the other. What ever stars they may be boasting, but they have shown stars to their members/visitors in broad day light. Unfortunately, I am a member of one such resort located there.
Otherwise, there are many good options in Goa to stay and enjoy, to suit all budgets. You may surf and come across plenty of places at all major attractive locations of Goa.

Outlook has a guide to Goa costs about 220 bucks - u get it in al book stores - try crossword . Its a fat book heavyto read - if u r desparate - i would say skip goa unless u r a foreigner siva Jee.
Good tip - all the hotels are alike - full of gujjus - they have no sense: all the 5 stars are cramped in seasons. I went recently, all they guys who recomend the hotels have coz they paid lot of money and me too blew so much of money - goa has lost its charm. if you wanna go for a no star hotel - go to Palolem - 30 km from madgoan station - finest beaches lovely food.
should have gone to Malaysia its cheaper - for 12 - 14 k you get 3 nights four days.
Try VArkala or Kovalam.

The park hyatt and the leela beach are the best if you want o just relax and not go out of the hotel at all. They also have great monsoon packages. If you waant to enjoy the nite life and the beach then you should check into a medium budget around the beach coz they are in the middle of everything fun.

There are a lot of good ones.
Hyatt, Taj emerald, Marriot, Radissons, Leela are the ones which are highly rated.
there are ample medium sized ones, too many to number here!
but my suggestion be in a simple place aroung baga or calangute, or Anjuna in the north
and down south do not miss palolem, it is heaven
there are small cozy places, if u want details, contact me

i think its Taj holiday village if you really want to have the feel of how Goan villages are like.
but if your are looking for luxuries than Park Hyatt, Leela and Taj Exotica are the best. take your pick
