I live on the border of Grand Lake/Piedmont & my home faces east. I'm sure I'll see quite a few fireworks displays all across the East Bay, including in your neck of the woods.
But really I'd recommend heading up into the hills. It's much more peaceful up there, and if you scope things out ahead of time, I'm sure you can find a perfect vantage point away from the maddening crowds.
