i mean it is like great and all....comes every 4 years. but how do you think it effects the world? securtity forces are tightened, hooligan fans cause mayhem....do you think the fifa soccer world cup is a good happening or a bad one? why? what is your opinion.

Its has its advantages and disadvantages.
Its called the greatest show on earth. Not even the Olympic can pull so many people from so many country into one area. Or have so many millions glued to the TV. A lot of new friendships will be created.
On the other hand the world cup has been accuse of corruption and racism. Sometimes it create enemies (see now the English is after C. Ronaldo)
Nothing is ever good throughout or bad throughout for that matter

It sucks now--low scoring , low levels of skill. boring defensive play, rules stuck in the 19th century (get a real clock for example!), hours of non-action...
It affects the world in that so many people get hypnotized by the lack of action, productivity declines. and they believe the hype that minutes turning to hours of 0-0 and no shots on goal = entertainment.
I love anything international in scope but compared to the Davis Cup, Ryder Cup (and I HATE golf!), F-1, Rugby World Cup. World Cup of Hockey or Olympics when the NHLers play as of late. World Baseball Classic and even the World Basketball Championships...the FIFA World Cup is bottom of the list for entertainment value. Sooner watch Snakes on a Plane for a good laugh than sit there waiting fro something, anything to actually happen near the goal in World Cup soccer. Now if it was like the 1970 World Cup--yes!
Sorry, no idea on cricket, darts, snooker and all those other bizarre sports Euroweenies like.

i think that this tournament has been one of the better quality in terms of matches than in many years. Certainly the world cup is a great event at any point because it brings people together, look at the ivory coast for example. For at least a short while they came together to support their team. It just doesnt happen any other time quite like it. Some may say the Olympics does the same, but the Olympics have been fading with all the steroid and illegal goings-on.

Absolutely incredible and fantastic. I luv it. Football gets people together, it transcends politics and social classes. Whats even better is the hooligans and the fans.
But this is the wrong place to post this in. This cat is for American Football not World Football(soccer as known in US).

It's incredible that all the people of the world have such a passion for one sport...and all of the measures taken for these people to enjoy themselves while watching AMAZING football is well worth it
