Yes people do get on disability for mental illness,however,one of the most important things they look for is how you illness affects your ability to perform activities of daily living ie.bathing,fixing your meals You will need documentation from you doc or mental health professional.If you don't win the first time and you probably won't appeal with an attorney.It takes an attorney app 2 years to get it through,not that it takes that long but they get a percentage of your lump sum payout so naturally they want to prolong it as long as possible.Unethical yes,uncommon,no.

Can you/should you? I'm not sure about the laws in Texas. You'll probably have to prove that you suffer from severe depression before they'll give y ou disability. I'm not sure who you would contact. But you might want to start the department that specializes in disabilities.

yes i believe you can get some disability i also suffer from depression and it makes it real hard to work or function normal daily

it is extremly difficult, but yes, i suggest getting a lawyer because otherwise it'll be a year or so, but you can't be working while your in the process
