my friends always compliment me....so do i say thankx, ur pretty 2? or should i just not say anyhting? cuz it's kinda obvious if u say the same thing back!!

Well, when someone compliments you, try to look like you are happy and you really appreciate it, because people do not easily pay compliments, their inborn tendency is to envy somebody first. You could say "Do you think so? I knew we had the same taste when it comes to clothes" or "Thank you, this really makes me feel better", in case you had a pretty bad day. And of course you have to return the compliments, but not on the spot. Your position is a tough one to keep, because when somebody compliments you, someone else in your group envies you. So, when they tell you "What a nice dress you have!", you could divert a bit of attention by saying "Oh, but look at Mary, I'm just in love with her skirt!" I'm sure Mary will be delighted. And try to observe your group of friends, feel free to tell them what you like about them. But be honest, and don't be afraid to criticize them a bit. This thing with compliments is like blows: when someone hurts you, you wait patiently for the moment when you can return the blow. It's a mistake to return the same compliment in a matter of seconds, and saying nothing would also be wrong. So, my advice is to look pleased and happy when you are complimented and to return these compliments on a long term basis. This way you will consolidate your position in your group of friends. Giving a compliment back can be fake, especailly if you really don't mean it. Hmmm, ya, fake. LOL
Thank them and move on with the conversation....
If they do look good or you like something they are wearing, then say it back....

When someone compliments you it's best just to accept the compliment with a simple thank you.

I always try and say something like, "What a nice and thoughtful thing to say", as a cmpliment back to them.
