Well there's a world of names available out there, most important choose ones that appeal to you (and your partner.) You'll probably be saying the name a lot for 20 years or so.

Choose something that's unique (John and Sarah-Jane will hardly make them feel special) but won't get them bullied (Egbert and Fifi-Trixibell had better be tough kids)

Don't choose the names of popular celebrities or TV characters. I know a teacher who had multiple chandlers, joeys, rachaels, and phoebes in one year, and in other years there were plenty more examples. I'm sure there have been a few classes in some schools where there are five or more Aaliyahs in the register.

Finally, you may care to check what the name means. Sharon is hebrew for "plain" - but don't automatically trust name dictionaries. Many will tell you that Karen is a Danish or Norwegian first name derived from the Greek ("káthera") meaning "pure", but few will tell you that it may come from misspelling Charon (pronounced....Karen!), the boatman of the river styx

I always decided that if I had a girl her name would be Alexandria, and if I had a boy Alex, short for Alexander.
