Yes indeed you can pretty much get pregnant anytime...see below.
Yes, it is possible for a woman to get pregnant during her menstrual period. Though the chances of pregnancy are usually lower at the onset of a woman's period, there is no predictable time during the month when the risk of pregnancy is absent.
Here is a brief overview of how it could happen.
During each menstrual cycle, a woman's ovaries release an egg, or ovum. This process is called ovulation. This typically takes place an average of about 14 days before the start of a woman's monthly period, but the timing varies from month to month even in the same woman (and sometimes does not occur at all). After ovulation the egg moves toward the uterus through the fallopian tubes, where fertilization may take place. An unfertilized egg may live for about 24 hours. If it isn't fertilized, the egg will be shed during the next menstrual period, along with the lining of the uterus.
A woman is most likely to become pregnant if sexual intercourse occurs just before or just after ovulation. Sperm can survive for several days -- typically two or three -- inside a woman's body. Under ideal circumstances, however, they may remain viable for up to five days. So if sperm are deposited early -- such as during a woman's period -- they can hang around a few days, waiting until conditions are right for conception.
In addition to the survival skills of sperm, a recent study in the British Medical Journal highlights another reason why couples sometimes conceive during the woman's period. Research results indicate that the "fertile window," or time during the month when pregnancy can occur, is highly unpredictable for most women.
During the three-month study, researchers collected data about the hormone and ovulation patterns of 221 healthy women who were trying to get pregnant. They found that, overall, an estimated 2% of women were in their fertile window by the fourth day of their cycle, and 17% by the seventh day. (Day one of the menstrual cycle is the day a woman starts her period.) On every day between days 6 and 21, there was at least a 10% probability, on average, that a woman could become pregnant. In addition, women who reported regular periods had up to a 6% probability of being fertile on the day that menstruation was expected to start. Ovulation was even harder to predict in women with irregular periods, according to the study. The researchers concluded that timing intercourse to avoid (or achieve) pregnancy is quite difficult and cannot be done with precision.

It's rare, but it IS possible to get pregnant when one is one ones period.
=====
P.S. All of those people who say that that's when a woman is MOST fertile are incorrect. Women typically ovulate two weeks BEFORE they get their periods, and THAT is when they are most fertile. Oh--and sperm do NOT last for months. Whoever told the lady, below, that mis-information was either "smoking crack" or was trying to scare her into being abstinent. (Those "abstinence education" folks will sometimes deliberately spread bad information in order to scare people. But that backfires, because then "kids" won't believe ANYTHING--not even what the sensible, sex-positive adults try to tell them! Back when I was a kid, they used to do the same thing, only they spread misinformation about drugs, not sex. And too many kids my age experimented with drugs, because they knew that the information that was being given to them was BOGUS!)
BTW, even though it's relatively rare to get pregnant during ones period, my own sister got pregnant when she had unprotected sex while on her period (and she got an abortion). And a few of the other ladies here also said that it happened to them. So it really IS NOT safe.
It's also unsafe in another way, that that is in terms of STDs. When your body is all open and bleeding like that, you're much more likely to catch an STD from a guy than normal (or give an STD to him if you're already carrying an infection). ALWAYS use a condom--even if you're on The Pill--to protect yourself from STDs as much as possible. (Condoms aren't 100% perfect, but they're WAY better than having no barrier at all.)

the only way so which you could be certain is to take a being pregnant attempt. Or, take emergency contraceptive. you won't be able to have a era in case you're pregnant via fact the two a style of issues won't be able to happen simultainously. in case you're pregnant and start up menstruating, you're able to ultimately lose the being pregnant or have a miscarriage. What you could adventure, even though, is vaginal bleeding and proceed to be pregnant. So, back, take a attempt or emergency contraceptive.

Probably not, but I did have a friend that got pregnant twice while on her period.
My biggest piece of advice is that pulling out doesn't work. I have a bouncing baby girl to prove it.
Remember, the few minutes of fun does not make up for all the years of parenting. Be careful!

Well i think so.. This is the dicharge of your eggs. So it is not safe. I only do it 8 days before or after my period, heard from a fren that it is the only safe period of doing sex. And my bf can take out in time as he can control well, so he never bust inside me before.

Yes, you can. I've attended two deliveries by women who got pregnant having sex during their periods. My ex is also a nurse and she's attended five such deliveries over the course of her career. In actual fact, you're probably safe - but next time, you use precautions if he ain't man enough to!

no.. I have done it plenty of times, the easiest time to get pregnant is two weeks up until you have your period to get pregnant. Although I am not saying that you should have unprotected sex you should be fine. I wouldn't worry about pregnancy too much you should be worried about STD'S.

You have a chance of getting pregnant almost anytime during your cycle. It's unlikely that you can become pregnant while on your period - but it does happen. A pregnancy test such as EPT will help clear up if you are if you aren't.

anytime you have unprotected sex you can get pregnant. during your period it is one of the most unlikely times to get pregnant. always use a condom and birth control to be safe. the only safe sex is no sex at all. you are obviously not ready for it
